Small Business Showcase exists to find quality small businesses in South Africa and then list them on this site so that people who want to support small businesses can find them in one central place. Think of us as a small business online directory.

Added to this, our goal is to promote quality small businesses to the masses across South Africa and get people to shift spend toward these small businesses. We want to be the driving force behind small businesses in South Africa.

The way we believe we will achieve this is by creating epic content about small businesses, and using that content to tell cool stories about these small businesses in a way that will encourage all South Africans to support small businesses that are doing incredible things.

Any time a small business succeeds, it constantly recycles money into our economy, and also hires more people. This is why small businesses are the engine room of our economy ❤

Being a small business ourselves, we understand how hard it can be to operate a small business in South Africa so we want to play our part in making this country better by shining a spotlight on quality small businesses and showcase what they’re all about.

HOW DID THE SMALL BUSINESS SHOWCASE COME ABOUT?
The “Small Business Showcase” was created Mark Sham from Suits & Sneakers as the first lockdown was enacted in South Africa in March 2020. Being in the events industry, Suits & Sneakers was heavily affected by the lockdown and after a few weeks, Mark setup a small video studio in an attempt keep his business alive.

Pretty soon, Mark started to invite other small business owners that were also impacted by COVID into his studio for an interview at no cost to them. He would then publish the interview on his social channels and within a few days, many of the interviews went viral and this is how the Small Business Showcase is born.

For the last 18 months, we have been creating video content about small businesses in South Africa and now we want to take the concept a few steps further. Small businesses are the engine room of our economy, and any time a small business succeeds, it hires more people, and recycles money into our economy.

More than anything, we all have a civic duty to support the little guys and make this country a better version than what it is today!
